Com índice de gorduras muito baixo e elevados teores de fibras, vitaminas do complexo B e vitamina C, o hiratake é colhido de forma “tardia”, podendo seus píleos (“pétalas”) atingir até 15 cm de diâmetro. Originário da Europa, América do Norte e Ásia, o hiratake possui um sabor bem acentuado, a textura bem diferente dos demais cogumelos e suas propriedades terapêuticas contribuem para que seja o quarto cogumelo mais consumido do mundo.
